The US Military Endurance Sports (USMES) program, a division of American Servicemembers Amateur Sports Inc. (ASAS), is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization chartered to support amateur athletes, endurance sports education and activities for current, retired, and veteran members of the United States Uniformed Services.

The 20 Best Things I’ve Heard in an IRONMAN (featuring USMES member, Ryan Hamm)

06 Dec 2017 Elite triathlete Ryan Hamm competes in the 18-24 age group while serving in the Coast Guard in North Carolina. His stellar 2017 results include an age group win at IMNC 70.3, earning him a coveted slot for the Kona IRONMAN World Championships in October 2017. In Kona at the World Championships, Ryan finished 20th in the 18-24 age group, 4th American in 10:38:36. We expect great things from Ryan in the future! Read more

A Special Veterans Day Addition—with Retired Army Maj. Lillian Pfluke

11 Nov 2017 In spirit of our partnership with US Military Endurance Sports (USMES) and Veterans Day, we’re honoring the athletes dedicated to our country and to fitness. For this week’s blog, we chatted with retired Army Maj. Lillian Pfluke. She’s one of the first women to enter West Point following President Gerald Ford’s signing of a 1975 bill requiring women’s admission to US service academies. Fortunately for Pfluke, it was her senior year of high school when West Point Academy began recruiting for its first class to include women— though Pfluke’s journey and the challenges she would take on had nothing to do with good timing and everything to do with her sharp mind, strong drive and tenacity.
