Jess graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 2011, where she competed in Volleyball, Basketball, and Track and Field.  She has been stationed in both Miami and Houston as a vessel safety and security inspector, working in both the largest Cruise Ship Port and largest Petrochemical Port in the US.  This summer, she will be pursuing her Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University.

In 2012, she switched over to triathlons and qualified for the 70.3 World Championships in her second 70.3 event.  In 5 years of racing triathlons, she has qualified for the Ironman World Championships on 3 separate occasions and competed in Kona twice.  In 2014, she raced in the Sprint World Championships, 70.3 World Championships, and Kona within the span of 2 months.   With 11 full distance triathlons under her belt, including first place female finisher for Wilderman, she intends to pursue a longer distance with Ultraman Florida this winter.  Following that, she will test her grit at the inaugural Alaskaman before tackling the 70.3 World Championships once more near the close of her season.  She is very excited and grateful to represent the US Military Endurance Sports Team at a variety of triathlon distances.
