Jesse Tubb // Adventure Racing
After serving in two different units in the Army Reserves for six years while in college, SFC Tubb won a position in the Army Field Band at Ft. Meade. He was stationed there for three years then he won the audition for the Army Band “Pershing’s Own” at Ft. Myer in 2005 where he currently serves as the assistant principal trumpet in the Concert Band.
Jesse started out racing mountain bikes in 2009 and quickly added triathlons to his schedule. While training for Ironman Lake Placid, he entered his first Adventure Race at the Rev3 26 Epic. The experience changed his trajectory once again and since, he has been focusing on Adventure Racing (AR). He has competed in dozens of races ranging from 3-hour sprints with his 9-year-old son to an 8-day World Championship race last November in Australia. His 2017 schedule includes several orienteering and rogaine races, 4-day 361 Breakdown, Adventure Racing World Championships, Adventure Enablers 26 hour Epic as a solo, several other 12hr and shorter races and the big Backyard ultra-marathon in the fall.
