Matt Williams has been a competitive collegiate and professional distance runner for the last 10 years. He competed for the Air Force Academy from 2005-2009 where he was the third fastest steeplechaser in school history, national championship qualifier, and team captain. Following his collegiate career Matt was apart of the Air Force World Class Athlete Program for 3 years. During this time he went on to set several new personal bests leading to top 10 finishes in the US Championships for both cross country and track & field. He narrowly missed the 2012 US Olympic Team Trials, and then moved to Texas to pursue a physical therapy career. While getting his doctorate in physical therapy from the Army-Baylor Physical Therapy program he moved up in distance from the track to half-marathons and marathons.

In 2014 Matt placed 4th in an elite field at the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon with a time of 1:04:24 to qualify for the US Olympic Marathon Trials. In 2015 Matt Placed 13th at the US Marathon Championships. He continues to improve in these distances with each year of experience, as he heads into the 2016 Olympic Cycle. His goals are to compete for spots on the Olympic team for both the Marathon and the 3000m Steeplechase.
