Information Technology (IT) Manager
US Military Endurance Sports Team Background:
US Military Endurance Sports (USMES), a division of American Servicemembers Amateur Sports (ASAS) Inc, is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization chartered to support amateur athletes, endurance sports education and activities for current, retired, and Veteran members of the United States Armed Forces.
The mission of USMES is to promote endurance sports as part of a healthy lifestyle to active and veteran members of the US Armed Forces.

Position Overview:
The IT Manager reports directly to the Executive Director (ED) and is responsible for supporting functions directly related to all USMES IT systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct updates to the organization website, as requested by the ED and/or a senior staff member. This requires coding in HTML, CSS, PHP, and other associated languages. Responsible for updating WordPress sites and SQL database. Connect the databases and secondary platforms to primary website and retain working functionality between associated platforms. Ensure website URLs, SSL certificates, and/or other hosting platforms remain operable with consistent up-time. Update code as hosted platforms and databases require.
- Update, processes, and communicates reasonable technology constraints involving the request, and suggesting different course-of-actions, if appropriate. Updates include, but are not limited to: bio / staff / elite member changes, partner logo changes, newsfeed article population, image re-sizing, event calendar updates, posting of job applications, partner listings, etc.
- Ensure member dashboard remains updated and facilitate communication between the dashboard and NEON, to include hiring the services of a contractor, if needed. Update regional pages within the dashboard, as time allows
- Maintain email, document, and shared storage services as required. Is familiar with connecting Google services with existing IT and web platforms.
- Assist staff in troubleshooting IT problems, to include managing communication with partner IT services, or any other IT-related contractor the organization does business with, or is considering doing future business with.
- Maintain licenses with third party IT services as needed.
- Facilitates the required annual renewal of web-hosting, certificates, WordPress services, plug-ins, etc. and any other IT related platforms that are a part of the member experience.
The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience tackling various hardware and software problems and is self-motivated. They should be comfortable providing technology solutions to leadership and, fellow staff members, and working closely with third party software companies to adopt new technologies and efficiently use existing ones. This candidate should have prior experience working with information technology and understand the latest technology trends to ensure the technology in place is up to date.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in related field
- Experience in information technology space and solving various software and hardware problems
- Strong technical problem solving and communication skills
- Experience with non-profit organizations
